India launched
Operation Sindoor
in response to the April 22 Pahalgam terror attack in which 26 people were killed. India’s precision strikes in Pakistan and PoJK on May 7 killed over 100 terrorists.
In response to further acts of aggression from Pakistan, it was decided to launch a rapid, well-coordinated, and measured counter-offensive. Consequently, the Indian Air Force (IAF) conducted strikes against multiple targets including Pakistani airbases, command centers, military installations, and air defense systems spanning the entirety of the western border.
In 2016, India conducted surgical strikes against terror launch pads in Pakistan-occupied Kashmir following horrific acts of terrorism. In retaliation to similar brutal assaults, India also executed an air strike on a terrorist camp in Pakistan in 2019.
